Local Marketing Expert Stresses the Importance of Online Reviews

According to an expert on local marketing, online reviews are quickly becoming one of the most important aspects of bringing in new business.

Arroyo Grande, CA, United States - March 13, 2018 /PressCable/ —

A recent study that highlights the importance of online reviews for local business owners has one local marketing expert issuing warnings for those who still don’t understand the importance.

“A recent study conducted by BrightLocal shows that 85 percent of today’s consumers trust online reviews just as much as they do a personal recommendation from a friend or family member,” says a spokesman from FindUsLocal.com, an online small business directory that caters to shoppers in a way that benefits the local businesses listed on the site. “And what’s more,” he says, “is that shoppers are demanding more and more positive reviews before they will make the decision to visit a local business.”

He’s talking about the results from the survey that show when a local shop, restaurant, or service business has positive online reviews, it causes 73 percent of consumers to trust that business more. But they need good reviews to make that happen. Forty-nine percent of consumers says they need to see at least a 4 star rating before they will consider visiting a local business.

“Another piece of valuable insight from the survey has to do with responding to all those online reviews,” he says. “Thirty percent of those surveyed say that they judge a business depending on whether or not it responds to online reviews.”

Consumers can leave online reviews anyplace, but most experts agree that it benefits local business owners more if they leave them on its free business listings. And the survey provides valuable insight into that too. “One of the most important highlights is that people are more than willing to leave online reviews if only they’re asked.”

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — Former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak failed Friday to win a court order barring the media from discussing the merits of corruption charges against him ahead of the start of his trial on Feb. 12. Najib has pleaded not guilty to seven charges of criminal breach of trust, abuse of power and money laundering in a case related to the alleged multibillion-dollar looting of the 1MDB state investment fund that led to his stunning electoral defeat three months ago. PUTRAJAYA, Malaysia — Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad said Friday he will visit Beijing next month to renegotiate terms for China-backed rail and gas pipeline projects in Malaysia worth more than $22 billion. Ex-Malaysia leader's arrest part of a swift fall from grace

Oct 19, 2018

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — Just two months ago, Najib Razak was a towering figure in Malaysian politics and literally beyond the law. That cloak of privilege and impunity was torn away Tuesday when anti-corruption police arrested him at his posh Kuala Lumpur home. Since his spectacular defeat in a May 9 general election, the government has swiftly reopened investigations into the multibillion-dollar looting of the 1MDB state investment fund that Najib set up when he took power in 2009. The now defunct fund amassed billions in debts and is being investigated in the U.S. and several other countries for alleged...
